University of Texas at San Antonio Plans School of Data Science and National Security Collaboration Center

The University of Texas at San Antonio is planning to construct a $90 million facility that will house the School of Data Science and the National Security Collaboration Center. The School of Data Science will occupy 84,500 sf of classroom, lab, and office space in the structure, which will collocate the departments of computer science, computer engineering, statistics and data sciences, and information systems and cybersecurity.

University of Delaware Begins Construction on FinTech Building

The University of Delaware began construction in April of 2020 on the $38 million FinTech building in Newark. Located on the Science, Technology and Advanced Research (STAR) Campus, the 100,000-sf facility will accelerate the development of innovative financial technologies. The six-story project, which is being created in partnership with Discover Bank and the Delaware Technology Park, will enable the university to lease space for its research programs in financial analytics, cybersecurity, data analysis, and human-machine learning.

The 860,000-sf facility will support the creation of innovative mobile devices and applications, as well as providing laboratories for the study of artificial intelligence, big data, the internet of things, and 5G technologies. Comprising 16 stories above ground and three floors below grade, the building will include a staff gym, a rooftop garden, and a clubhouse. Completion is expected in late 2022.
