Husson University broke ground in June of 2020 on the $17.2 million Center for Business in Bangor, Maine. Offering technology-rich classrooms for experiential learning, the 42,500-sf structure will feature the IEX Center, a unique facility that will leverage virtual and augmented reality modalities to deliver immersive experiences related to courses at Husson. Designed by Harriman and Goody Clancy, the building will support the cross-pollination of science and entrepreneurship in an interdisciplinary environment that integrates business education with STEAM programs in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. Sheridan Construction is the general contractor for the project, which will include a classroom with tiered seating, faculty and staff offices, and a legal studies hub with an area for mock trials. Occupancy is expected in fall of 2021.
