University of Illinois at Chicago Plans Computer Design Research and Learning Center

The University of Illinois at Chicago will begin construction in spring of 2021 on the $118 million Computer Design Research and Learning Center. Designed by Booth Hansen and LMN Architects, the 125,000-sf facility will provide flexible classrooms, lecture halls, dry research labs, design studios, faculty and staff offices, and collaboration areas. Housing the Department of Computer Science, the mixed-use building will accommodate the interdisciplinary Electronic Visualization Laboratory and a 1,200-sf robotics lab. LEED Gold sustainable design certification will be sought for the project, which is slated for completion in spring of 2023.
