Hyundai Motor Company will break ground in October of 2020 on the Hyundai Mobility Global Innovation Center in Singapore (HMGICs). The 300,000-sf facility will be located on over ten acres in the Jurong Innovation District, an advanced manufacturing campus developed by JTC Corporation. Supported by funding from the Singapore Economic Development Board, the open innovation hub will accelerate the discovery of new sustainable mobility solutions. The lab will also spearhead efforts to reach new markets and customers with leading-edge technologies that will transform automotive R&D, production, and sales. Combining AI, the Internet of Things (IoT), and other advanced modalities, the project will enable the creation of a human-centered smart manufacturing platform that will be validated through a small pilot production facility for electric vehicles. In conjunction with the platform, new product development processes and on-demand production systems will be tested and proven. Occupancy is expected in late 2022.
