SANYO Launches Four-Way HVAC Models

SANYO Commercial Solutions announced the launch of new four-way ceiling-recessed air conditioners and heat pumps in December of 2008. The XS/XHS1271 and XS/XHS1872 models send cool air in all directions within the room and return the air through the center of the grille, which evenly distributes air through each of the openings. The six new split product models are available in both 12,000 and 18,000 Btu/h capacities and available in cooling only, cooling only with low ambient capability, and heat pump versions.

Meridian Health Builds Jackson Outpatient Center

Meridian Health is partnering with developer Lillibridge of Chicago to build the 150,000-sf Meridian Health Village in Jackson, N.J. Construction will begin on the outpatient medical facility in spring of 2009 with completion slated for summer of 2010. The project will include an imaging center, surgical suites, urgent care, women’s and children’s health, laboratory, and family practice offices.

Columbia Gorge Community College Opens Health and Science Building

Columbia Gorge Community College opened its $8 million health and science building in The Dalles, Ore., in fall of 2008. The 35,000-sf facility houses four science labs, 11 technology-rich classrooms, an amphitheater, offices for the nursing program, student services, and administration.

Scripps Occupies Jupiter Campus

Scripps Research Institute will celebrate the opening of the three-building Scripps Florida campus in Jupiter on February 26, 2009. The 350,000-sf project is sited on 40 acres adjoining Florida Atlantic University and houses biomedical research laboratories, technology space, and offices.

Binghamton University Constructs Science Building

Binghamton University will begin construction in early 2009 on $36 million science building in Vestal, N.Y. The 65,000-sf Science V will house research laboratories and instructional space for the departments of psychology and biological sciences. Completion is slated for spring of 2011. Binghamton University will also begin building a $66 million, two-story engineering building at the Innovative Technologies Complex in February of 2009.
