Missouri University of Science and Technology will begin construction in late summer of 2023 on a $53.4 million manufacturing innovation hub in Rolla. Designed by Perkins&Will and Mackey Mitchell Architects, the Missouri Protoplex will be the headquarters of a statewide ecosystem where experts, innovators, business owners, and educators develop new production methods and technologies. Abundant natural light will illuminate an energetic central core of shared circulation, conference, and amenity spaces, accompanied by a robust array of high bay facilities, research labs, workshops, and offices. Anchoring the Manufacturing Technology and Innovation Campus, the highly flexible building will also provide training venues to equip the workforce of the future with in-demand skills and competencies. The project team includes McClure Engineering with Paric Corporation as construction manager at risk.
