Drexel University is partnering with Wexford Science+Technology to create the Drexel Academic Tower in Philadelphia. Construction began in July of 2020 on the structure, which will provide Drexel with 450,000 sf of rented space in the University City district. The College of Nursing and Health Professions will be located in the building, with classes beginning in fall of 2022. In 2023, the interdisciplinary facility will also house the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Professional Studies, classrooms and labs for first- and second-year medical programs, and administrative offices for the College of Medicine. By collocating thematically aligned research and education programs, the project will enable the university to vacate other leased properties in the city.
