Werfen Opens Advanced R&D Facility in Bedford
Werfen opened a $50 million research and development facility in December of 2024 in Bedford, Mass. Designed by Maugel DeStefano Architects, the 169,500-sf building provides a dynamic new home for the company's Hemostasis and Acute Care Diagnostics Technology Center. The structure's first two floors offer a total of 27,500 sf of lab space and 91,000 sf of office space, perched over a 51,000-sf parking area for 160 vehicles.
Clemson University Breaks Ground on Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine
Clemson University broke ground in November of 2024 on the Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine in Clemson, S.C. Addressing a critical shortage of veterinarians in the state and the nation, the $285 million project will enable a distributed pedagogical model that prepares students to go directly to local animal hospitals for training and clinical study.
Mount Sinai Opens Center for Artificial Intelligence and Human Health
Mount Sinai Health System opened the $100 million Hamilton and Amabel James Center for Artificial Intelligence and Human Health in November of 2024 in New York. Designed by HOK, the project involved the transformation of a former nursing residence into a 65,000-sf research hub for computational discovery. The 12-story structure will initially house approximately 40 principal investigators, alongside 250 graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, computer scientists, and staff.
University of South Florida Breaks Ground on New Stadium
The University of South Florida broke ground in November of 2024 on a $340 million stadium in Tampa. Designed by Populous, the 615,000-sf project will provide the South Florida Bulls football team with a dynamic performance environment that will optimize the experience of fans and athletes alike. The 35,000-seat facility will feature a dedicated student section in the west end that leverages distinctive branding and lighting to create a unique atmosphere.
Texas A&M University Plans Clinical Veterinary Teaching & Research Complex
Texas A&M University is planning to construct the Clinical Veterinary Teaching & Research Complex in College Station. Page is partnering with associate architect Foil Wyatt on the design of the $181 million facility, which will advance veterinary education and drive groundbreaking medical research. Offering world-class primary care, the project will also provide sophisticated environments for student training and areas for clinical trials.
