Texas A&M University is planning to construct the Clinical Veterinary Teaching & Research Complex in College Station. Page is partnering with associate architect Foil Wyatt on the design of the $181 million facility, which will advance veterinary education and drive groundbreaking medical research. Offering world-class primary care, the project will also provide sophisticated environments for student training and areas for clinical trials.
Located near the existing Small Animal Teaching Hospital (SATH), the approximately 135,000-sf development will house 15 of the SATH’s specialty referral services, including oncology, neurology, ophthalmology, dentistry, nutrition, and interventional radiology. The two-story structure will also accommodate expanded facilities for SATH’s Emergency Service and Intensive Care Unit, as well as double the number of surgical suites and exam rooms. In addition to diagnostic imaging suites and an onsite pharmacy, the Clinical Veterinary Teaching & Research Complex will feature client comfort rooms and wellness spaces for faculty, staff, and students.
Setting a new benchmark for academic animal hospitals, the flexible facility will enable the Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences to adapt to changes in research programs or technological requirements for decades to come. Vaughn Construction is the contractor for the first phase, which will begin in January of 2025. Occupancy is anticipated in August of 2027.
