Trammell Crow and Georgia Tech Build Science Square 3

Trammell Crow Company is developing Science Square in Atlanta to provide Georgia Tech with state-of-the-art facilities for learning, research, and innovation. Ground was broken in September of 2023 on the third phase of construction at the site, a 416,500-sf complex with two towers linked by a shared circulation core. Envisioned as a vertical quad, this dynamic social zone will offer myriad collaboration venues with a large gathering area for presentations and events. A monumental stair will create an active connection from the promenade on the ground level all the way up to a green roof terrace. The 14-story Scheller Tower will house MBA and executive education programs for the College of Business, and the 18-story George Tower will accommodate the Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering.

Designed by Eskew Dumez Ripple and Rule Joy Trammell + Rubio (RJTR), the sustainably designed structure is targeting LEED Platinum certification and is expected to achieve an EUI rating of 25. Turner Construction is the general contractor with JLL acting as program manager. Engineering firms Newcomb & Boyd, Kimley-Horn, Uzun + Case, NOVA, and CPP are contributing their expertise to the project, with Long Engineering as surveyor and Clanton & Associates as lighting designer. Other consultants include Point Energy Innovations, Williamson & Associates, SLS Consulting, Lerch Bates, Palacio Collaborative, and Design Workshop. Phased occupancy will begin in 2026.
