Purdue University Plans Gateway Complex

Purdue University will begin construction in spring of 2020 on the $140 million Gateway Complex in West Lafayette, Ind. Designed by BSA LifeStructures and Ennead Architects, the multidisciplinary project will provide instructional labs, design studios, collaboration spaces, and active learning environments for the College of Engineering and the Purdue Polytechnic Institute. Replacing two existing structures, the four-story, 255,000-sf facility will collocate labs currently sited in disparate campus locations as well as supporting new data science courses. Leveraging advanced digital infrastructure technologies, the building will feature project-based teaching rooms, specialized spaces for programs in advanced manufacturing, and virtual laboratories for online learning. Completion is expected in Decemberl of 2022.
