Eastern Michigan University is engaged in a $40 million renovation of Sill Hall in Ypsilanti. Featuring highly adaptable infrastructure for optimal flexibility, the $40 million project will create sophisticated laboratories and experiential learning environments for the College of Engineering and Technology. Comprising 92,635 sf of renovated space and a 16,000-sf addition, the collaborative facility will accommodate programs in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science, and will include specialized spaces for research in advanced manufacturing, autonomous vehicles, virtual and augmented reality, computer simulation, and cybersecurity. IDS (Integrated Design Solutions) is providing architectural, interior design, and mechanical and electrical engineering services. Clark Construction Group is the general contractor for the project, which is slated for completion in fall of 2020.
