NETL Builds Morgantown Testing Lab

The National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) will construct a testing lab in Morgantown, W.V. Supported by $14 million in stimulus funding, the 35,000-sf Performance Verification Laboratory will accommodate the testing of appliances to determine if they meet Department of Energy (DOE) efficiency standards. Featuring controlled environments with consistent room temperatures, the Morgantown facility will be one of eight new research and testing facilities nationwide. Laboratory planning will commence in December of 2009 with completion expected by September of 2013.

Liberty Industries Introduces PureSeal Pass Thru Unit

Liberty Industries has expanded its manufacturing product line of Pass Thru's to include the new PureSeal Pass Thru unit. The unit is constructed in 304 or 316 electropolished stainless steel with chrome plated latches with smooth surfaces to allow for easy cleaning, sterilization or disinfection. The construction materials do not support the growth of micro-organisms. The unit also features a custom monolithic PureSeal gasket that allows for steam cleaning.

St. Joseph's Health System Breaks Ground on Critical Care Facility

St. Joseph’s Health System broke ground in November of 2009 on a $100,000 Critical Care Building at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, N.J. Designed by Francis Cauffman, the 230,000-sf facility will house an expanded emergency room with separate adult and pediatric units, 12 operating rooms, and a 5,000-sf addition to the Level Two Regional Trauma Center. The building will also provide cardiac and surgical critical care and intensive care units. Completion is expected in 2012.

All Children's Hospital Opens in St. Petersburg

All Children’s Hospital opened its $403 million pediatric healthcare facility in St. Petersburg in January of 2010. The 1 million-sf project is comprised of a new hospital and an outpatient care center. The hospital provides 252 inpatient beds, including a 97-bed neonatal intensive care unit, as well as the Bayfront Baby Place which houses a birthing center and well-baby nursery. The hospital also features an expanded emergency center, a helipad, and a cardiac catheterization lab. A parking garage and central energy plant were also constructed at the site.
