Baylor College of Medicine is constructing the $260 million Lillie and Roy Cullen Tower in Houston. The 503,000-sf facility will strategically collocate the School of Medicine and the School of Health Professions next to the Texas Medical Center’s Helix Park. The technology-rich building will feature studio classrooms, lecture halls, teaching labs, and an expansive atrium that can function as a 500-seat auditorium.

Designed by The S/L/A/M Collaborative, the 11-story structure will offer a state-of-the-art anatomy lab, a 35,000-sf simulation center, and dedicated research space for big data analytics. Comfortable lounges, study areas, and a wellness center will enhance the student experience. The eleventh floor will accommodate new offices for Baylor’s executive leadership. Topped by lush rooftop gardens, the biophilic structure will encircle an elevated courtyard suitable for events and gatherings.

Linbeck is general contractor for the facility with JLL acting as project manager. Ground was broken in May of 2023 on the first phase, which will deliver 138,000 sf of academic space and 81,000 sf research space in mid-2026. The remainder of the structure's interior will be built out at a later date. The Cullen Tower represents the first phase of Baylor’s planned Health Sciences Park, an 800,000-sf development sited adjacent to Baylor Medicine and Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center on the McNair Campus.
