Siemens Mobility is planning to construct a £100 million innovation center for rail infrastructure in Chippenham. Featuring world-class R&D labs for the discovery of novel travel solutions, the digitally enabled complex will produce the next generation of signaling and control systems for the United Kingdom. Open office areas designed to support hybrid working will be accompanied by sophisticated meeting rooms and collaboration spaces.
This beacon of manufacturing excellence will leverage advanced technologies to achieve superior energy performance. Targeting the highest level of BREEAM certification, the project will transform the site in the SouthPoint Business Park into a biodiverse oasis with native plantings and habitats for wildlife. Approximately 800 employees will relocate to the new facility from Siemens’ original Chippenham plant, which has served as the company’s main rail factory for over a century. Completion is expected in late 2025.
