Towson University Begins Construction on College of Health Professions

Towson University began construction in October of 2021 on the $175 million College of Health Professions in Towson, Md. Designed by Perkins&Will and JMT Architecture, the 240,000-sf facility will accommodate growing programs in nursing, health sciences, occupational therapy, occupational science, and speech-language pathology and audiology. The six-story building will collocate the college's undergraduate and graduate departments in a single integrated structure. Offering 19 collaborative classrooms, the facility will house 10 teaching labs, 10 patient exam rooms, eight speech and audiology research labs, six specialty simulation labs, a maker space, and a 300-seat auditorium. Occupancy is expected in summer of 2024. WFT Engineering is providing plumbing, fire protection, life safety code analysis, and construction administration services for the project, which is expected to attain LEED Gold sustainable design certification.
