The University of Cincinnati is constructing the 180,000-sf Digital Futures Building in the Uptown Innovation Corridor. Designed by KieranTimberlake with Research Facilities Design (RFD) as laboratory design consultant, the interdisciplinary facility will provide applied research labs for the creation of innovative robotic, automotive, and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technologies. The University of Cincinnati will occupy leased space in the structure, which will also accommodate the school's research programs in digital health management, infrastructure resilience, and information security. Developed by Terrex and built by Messer Construction, the facility is part of a $250 million project that will include a 180,000-sf office building, a 1,350-space underground parking garage, and a 158-room hotel. Completion is expected in early 2022. Subsequent construction phases at the Uptown Innovation Corridor will provide another research and office building, residential facilities, and parking amenities.
