Nanotronics began construction in September of 2019 on a 25,000-sf facility at the Brooklyn Navy Yard in New York. Featuring leading-edge manufacturing systems, the $11 million project will accommodate the research, development, and production of advanced imaging systems that combine robotics, optical microscopy, artificial intelligence, and machine learning platforms. Sited in a former ship-building factory, the renovated structure will enable investigators to collaborate with machinists to formulate highly efficient manufacturing modalities that can decrease the footprint of factories, reduce waste, and accelerate innovation. The design team for the project includes Rogers Partners Architects + Urban Designers. Nanotronics is also partnering with the City University of New York, Cornell Tech, New York University, and Columbia University to provide education and training programs.
