The University of Missouri System broke ground on the $221 million NextGen Precision Health Institute in June of 2019. Located at the University of Missouri-Columbia, the five-story, 265,000-sf translational research facility will accommodate over 60 principal investigators working in collaboration with industry partners to develop innovative personalized medicine solutions. As well as biomedical and bioinformatics labs for the study of cancer, neurological conditions, and vascular diseases, the building will include flexible learning spaces for the education and training of a new generation of healthcare scientists and practitioners. The project team includes architectural and engineering firm Burns & McDonnell, construction manager Whiting-Turner, and laborarory and vivarium planners Louviere, Stratton & Yokel (LSY Architects). Occupancy is expected in October of 2021.
