Alexandria Real Estate Equities opened the first phase of the Alexandria Center for AgTech in Research Triangle Park in April of 2019. Located in Durham, N.C., the project is a unique multi-tenant campus offering integrated research, development, and greenhouse facilities for agricultural science and technology companies. Designed to maximize collaboration, the amenity-rich development includes a state-of-the-art conference space, a fully equipped fitness center, and a multifunctional lobby that can accommodate community and industry events as well promoting informal interactions. The first 175,000-rsf phase was fully leased upon opening to companies including Arysta LifeScience, Boragen, Elo Life Systems, GreenLight Biosciences, Indigo Ag, and Syngenta Crop Protection. Construction on the second 160,000-rsf phase of construction has begun and completion is expected in 2020.
Alexandria LaunchLabs – AgTech, located at the Alexandra Center for AgTech, is a full-service startup platform designed to dramatically accelerate the growth of early-stage agtech companies. Alexandria LaunchLabs – AgTech provides its member companies with move-in-ready office, laboratory, and greenhouse space. Additional membership offerings include first-class support resources, shared equipment and plant growth chambers, strategic programming and mentoring, a highly experienced onsite operations team, and access to seed capital.
