Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center opened the $22.3 million Academic Classroom Building in Odessa in February of 2019. Designed to promote active learning, the two-story, 51,000-sf facility provides studio classrooms, lecture halls, physical and occupational therapy training labs, research labs, and departmental offices for the schools of medicine, nursing, and health professions. Offering sophisticated distance learning technologies, the interdisciplinary building includes a shared education and conference venue with movable walls to support collaboration with Medical Center Hospital. FKP, now part of CannonDesign, provided architecture, programming, lab planning, and interior design services for the project, which was constructed in only 500 days.
