Colorado State University opened the $19.5 million Nancy Richardson Design Center in January of 2019 in Fort Collins. Designed by OZ Architecture and Salt Design, the collaborative 45,000-sf facility provides a two-story atrium, design studios, technology-rich fabrication and prototyping labs, presentation spaces, classrooms, computer labs, a café, and several outdoor venues. The interdisciplinary center accommodates programs in interior architecture and design, apparel and merchandising, landscape architecture, art, engineering, product development, entrepreneurship, and construction management. Saunders Construction broke ground on the project in September of 2017. LEED Silver sustainable design certification will be sought for the facility.
