Arizona State University is planning to construct a $64 million digital innovation campus in downtown Mesa. Designed by Holly Street Studio and Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, the five-story, 118,000-sf project will provide galleries, theaters, production studios, fabrication labs, flexible classrooms, and a café. Featuring a 3,000-sf immersion suite for the development of 3D modeling, visualization, and augmented and virtual reality technologies, the Creative Futures Laboratory will accommodate programs in digital and sensory technology, experiential design, gaming media arts, and film production. The Innovation Studio will promote entrepreneurship with collaboration zones and leasable spaces for business incubation. DPR Construction is the construction manager at risk for the project, which is slated for occupancy in fall of 2021.
