Brigham Young University opened an $80 million facility for the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering in September of 2018 in Provo, Utah. Designed by VCBO Architects with Research Facilities Design (RFD) as laboratory programming  and design consultant, the five-story, 200,000-sf facility features a dedicated laboratory annex, a student innovation floor, and a prototyping shop. Housing the departments of chemical, mechanical, civil and environmental, and electrical and computer engineering, the collaborative building provides 158 faculty and administrative offices, 54 teaching and project labs, team meeting rooms, flexible learning spaces, classrooms, and a café. Built by Jacobsen Construction and Span Construction, the structure connects at all above-ground levels to the existing Clyde Engineering Building. Construction began on the project in May of 2016.
