The University of Maryland, Baltimore and the University of Maryland, College Park are partnering to create the $210 million Cole Field House, a leading-edge sports medicine and practice facility in College Park. The first phase of construction, comprising a full-size indoor football field, was completed in August of 2017, enabling the second phase to commence. The Center for Sports Medicine, Health and Human Performance will provide a technology-rich facility where leading investigators in the fields of neuroscience, genomics, and biomechanics can engage in collaborative translational research. The project will include a clinical treatment center, a strength and conditioning suite, hydrotherapy facilities, and two outdoor fields. The center will also house UMCP’s Academy for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Completion is expected in late 2020.
