Nova Southeastern University opened the $100 million Center for Collaborative Research in September of 2016 in Davie, Fla. Designed by ACAI Associates, the six-story, 215,000-sf facility features wet and dry laboratories, a high-performance computing environment, the AutoNation Institute for Breast and Solid Tumor Cancer Research, the NSU Cell Therapy Institute, and the Institute for Natural and Ocean Sciences Research. The building also houses the Institute for Neuro-Immune Medicine, the Rumbaugh-Goodwin Institute for Cancer Research, and the Emil Buehler Research Center for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The facility provides core labs for genomics, flow cytometry, cell therapy, and imaging, and the entire first floor is occupied by the United States Geological Survey to enable collaborative research in hydrology and ecology. ANF Group was the construction manager for the project, which is expected to attain LEED Gold sustainable design certification. Ground was broken on the facility in February of 2014.
