Vivalis Occupies New R&D Facility
Vivalis has relocated its research and development operations to a new 35,520-sf facility in Nantes, France. The €6.5 million biologics research facility is located adjacent to Vivalis’ existing bioproduction building and will support accelerated product development.
Max Planck Breaks Ground on Jupiter Research Facility
The Max Planck Society broke ground in June of 2010 on a 100,000-sf bioimaging research facility in Jupiter, Fla. The project is located on six acres at the MacArthur campus of Florida Atlantic University. The project team includes Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects, associate architect PGAL, laboratory design consultant Research Facilities Design (RFD), and BR+A Consulting Engineers.
Washington State University Breaks Ground on School for Global Animal Health
Washington State University broke ground on the $35 million School for Global Animal Health on June 25, 2010. The 62,000-sf facility is sited adjacent to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Pullman. Housing research laboratories for the study of zoonotic diseases, emerging pathogen detection, and vaccine development, the three-story project is slated for completion in spring of 2012. The project team includes Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects and Bouten Construction Company.
Ascension Health Completes Middle Tennessee Medical Center
Ascension Health completed construction in June of 2010 on the $267 million Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro. The 561,000-sf replacement hospital provides 10 operating rooms, 11 labor and delivery suites, an intensive care unit, emergency, and diagnostic imaging facilities. Occupancy is expected in October of 2010. The 286-bed facility was built by Turner Construction.
Republic of Ireland Builds National Pediatric Hospital
The Republic of Ireland will begin construction by year-end 2010 on a €750 million pediatric hospital in Dublin. Consolidating operations from three existing facilities, the project will provide 392 private inpatient rooms and 81 outpatient beds. Completion is expected in late 2014.
