Richardson Regional Partners With UT Southwestern To Establish Comprehensive Cancer Center
Richardson Regional Medical Center is partnering with University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas to create a 50,000-sf comprehensive cancer center in Richardson, Texas. Sited on Richardson Regional’s George Bush/Renner Campus, the $20-million facility is slated for completion in late 2005.
Gates Corp Develops Customer Solutions Center
Denver-based Gates Corp. is planning a $14-million customer solutions center in unincorporated Douglas County, Colo. The 69,800-sf facility will accommodate product research, development, and training. Designed by OZ Architecture of Boulder, Colo., the center will be developed by Opus Northwest LLC of Minneapolis. Hands-on customer training facilities will be complemented by secure vehicle testing bays for confidential research and development. Occupancy is expected in December 2004. Gates Corp.
GSA Renovates Herbert C. Hoover Building Complex
The General Services Administration (GSA) has selected URS Corporation to provide engineering design services for the modernization of the Herbert C. Hoover Building complex in Washington, D.C. The complex is home to the headquarters of the Department of Commerce, the National Park Service’s White House Visitor Center, and the National Aquarium. Located next to the White House and across from the Washington Monument, it was built 70 years ago and consists of 1.85 million sf and more than eight miles of corridors running through the building.
Bryant & Stratton College Develop Orchard Park Campus
Bryant & Stratton College will open its new Orchard Park, N.Y., campus in September 2004. The campus will comprise 27,000 sf of the 32,000-sf facility, with the business college’s online division in the remaining 5,000 sf. Featuring four computer labs, ten lecture rooms, a medical lab, and a library learning center, the campus will replace Bryant & Stratton’s Lackawanna site.
University of Oregon Plans Education Teaching/Research Building
The University of Oregon College of Education is planning to construct the Hedco Education building in Eugene, Ore. The 100,000-sf facility will accommodate teaching and research space featuring areas for developing instructional assessment tools, designing curriculum, and demonstrating leading edge math and science teaching methods. Housing a teaching performance studio and an integrated professional training clinic, the building will also provide community services in counseling and speech-hearing-language disorders.
