Clarian Health Builds Saxony Medical Center

Clarian Health is constructing the $190 million Clarian Saxony Medical Center in Fishers, Ind. The 200,000-sf, 44-bed acute care hospital will provide primary care, surgery, sports medicine, urgent care, and imaging facilities. Completion is expected in late 2011. A 100,000-sf medical office building will also be built at the site.

CPL Biologicals Breaks Ground on Influenza Vaccine Plant

CPL Biologicals broke ground in fall of 2009 on an influenza vaccine manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad, India. The 25,000-sf building will be operational in the first quarter of 2010. The facility will use virus-like particle (VLP) vaccine technology to produce commercial-scale quantities of VLP-based influenza vaccines. The plant will be able to produce over 60 million doses annually at full capacity. CPL Biologicals is a joint venture of Novavax and Cadila Pharmaceuticals of India.

Algonquin College Breaks Ground on Centre for Construction Excellence

Algonquin College broke ground in October of 2009 on the $77 million Centre for Construction Excellence in Ottawa. Designed by Diamond and Schmitt Architects in collaboration with Edward J. Cuhaci and Associates, the 180,000-sf facility will house classrooms, studios, laboratories, and shops. The LEED Platinum certified facility will function as a teaching laboratory for sustainable construction. Completion is slated for fall of 2011.

Bridgewater State College Breaks Ground on Mathematics and Science Center

Bridgewater State College broke ground on a $98.7 million expansion and renovation of its Mathematics and Science Center on October 30, 2009. Designed by Payette, the project will create a 213,000-sf facility for new programs, technology, and laboratories while accommodating the college's ten-fold increase in enrolled students since the center was built in 1964.
