Johns Hopkins University is constructing The Village, an innovative student center located on the Homewood campus in Baltimore. Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group as a social engagement hub for all members of the Hopkins community, the $250 million facility will provide an array of flexible spaces that foster connection and collaboration. Strategically sited to allow direct entry on all four levels, the 150,000-sf facility will offer inviting areas for interaction and relaxation, a student services hub, a 200-seat performance venue, and a dining hall opening onto an outdoor plaza. The mass timber structure will create a warm and acoustically comfortable environment as light filters in between photovoltaic roof panels.

Shepley Bulfinch is the architect of record for the development with Rockwell Group as interior designer and Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates as landscape architect. Clark Construction broke ground on the sustainably designed project in August of 2021 and construction began in early 2022. Occupancy is expected in July of 2025.
