The University of Central Florida broke ground in January of 2024 on a new home for the College of Nursing at Lake Nona Medical City in Orlando. Designed by Ayers Saint Gross and HuntonBrady, the Dr. Phillips Nursing Pavilion will address a statewide shortage of healthcare professionals by enabling the university to graduate an additional 150 nurses each year. The $68 million development will provide classrooms, flexible instructional venues, wet and dry labs, offices, and study zones. Featuring dedicated spaces for virtual reality education, the 90,000-sf building will offer innovative simulation facilities where the next generation of caregivers can engage in experiential learning and training. The entire structure is elevated to incorporate a shaded porch area with a range of settings for collaboration and exchange.

Created in partnership with AdventHealth and Orlando Health, the Dr. Phillips Nursing Pavilion is strategically sited near the UCF College of Medicine and the Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences on 50 acres of land previously donated by Tavistock Development Company. The project team includes DPR Construction, Walter P Moore, and TLC Engineering. Occupancy is anticipated in fall of 2026.
