Zephyr Partners Plans Cannabis R&D Campus in Buffalo

Published 4/9/2021

Zephyr Partners is planning to construct a $200 million cannabis R&D campus in Buffalo, N.Y. The 1.375 million-sf complex will provide research labs, extraction suites, a manufacturing center, and 850,000 sf of greenhouse cultivation space. Sited on 47 acres in the Lakeside Commerce Park, the complex will also include administrative offices and a business incubator for cannabis-related startup companies. The project will support collaborative research with Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center on the development of cannabinoid medicines for the mitigation of chemotherapy symptoms. A workforce training center on the campus will enable students from SUNY Erie Community College to gain valuable skills as part of the school's new cannabis industry curriculum. BMS Design Studio is the architect for the complex, which is slated to begin construction by early 2022.
