The University of Arkansas will begin construction in mid-2019 on the $10.3 million Civil Engineering Research and Education Center in Fayetteville. Designed by TreanorHL Architects and DEMX Architecture, the 37,400-sf project will offer sophisticated research spaces including a high-bay lab for the testing of structures and materials. The first phase of construction will also include offices for faculty and graduate students, with subsequent phases providing classrooms, an asphalt research lab, and a new facility for the Center for Training Transportation Professionals. The center will be located in the Arkansas Research and Technology Park.
