Huntington Beach, Calif.
Golden West College opened the $57 million Math and Science Building in December of 2019 in Huntington Beach, Calif. Designed by HMC Architects to promote innovation and invention, the collaborative 120,516-sf facility houses a STEM center, 18 wet and dry science labs, lecture spaces, classrooms, group study areas, and faculty offices. Offering engaging environments for hands-on learning, the three-story structure provides multifunctional spaces that encourage investigating, exploring, making, and communicating. LEED Silver sustainable design certification will be sought for the design-build project, which broke ground in May of 2017. The facility was built by Sundt Construction with P2S as engineering consultant.
