Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences broke ground in June of 2018 on the $33 million Center for Medical Education Innovation. Accommodating physician medical education and interprofessional health science programs, the collaborative four-story facility will include standardized patient rooms, high-fidelity simulation suites, a virtual skills simulation deck, and a simulation command center. Constructed for ease of adaption to future pedagogical needs, the 56,000-sf multifunctional project will house a center for osteopathic manipulation medicine and nearly 13,000 sf of classroom space. The facility was designed by CO Architects and Helix Architecture + Design. The general contractor is JE Dunn.
