California State University, San Bernardino broke ground on the $55 million Center for Global Innovation building in December of 2017. Serving as the core campus centerpiece, the three-story, 71,000-sf facility will feature 24 collaborative learning classrooms, reconfigurable multipurpose rooms, and casual study lounges. The Center for Global Innovation will house the College of Extended Learning and all international student programs, as well as providing administrative offices, a 250-seat auditorium, retail food services, and an integrated terrace, gallery, and plaza for special events. Sustainable building features will include extensive use of natural light and ventilation, low-flow plumbing fixtures, glazed windows, and LED lighting with smart controls. Occupancy is expected by fall of 2019.
