North Central College Breaks Ground on Science Center

North Central College broke ground in May of 2015 on a $60 million science center in Naperville, Ill. Housing the departments of biochemistry, biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, neuroscience, physics, and psychology, the four-story, 125,000-sf interdisciplinary building will support progressive pedagogies for STEM education (science, technology, engineering, and math). Designed by Holabird & Root, the facility will provide 18 teaching labs, 16 research labs, 15 seminar classrooms, 19 student gathering areas, 53 faculty and staff offices, a lecture hall, and a greenhouse. The project team includes laboratory programming and design consultant Research Facilities Design (RFD), general contractor Bulley & Andrews, and project manager U.S. Equities Realty/CBRE. Occupancy is expected in fall of 2017.
