Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is building the Advanced Health Sciences Pavilion in Los Angeles. Designed by the Los Angeles office of HOK and built by Hathaway Dinwiddie, the 11-story, 440,000-sf building will provide integrated facilities for outpatient care, translational research, and medical education. The pavilion will house clinical space, diagnostic and imaging facilities, a pharmacy, an education center, research labs, a café, three-floors of underground parking, and two connecting pedestrian bridges. Laboratories will be co-located with outpatient care areas to allow medical researchers and practitioners to work closely with one another in a collaborative environment. LEED Gold sustainable design certification will be sought for the project. Occupancy is expected in 2013.
