OAK RIDGE, TENN.
Oak Ridge National Laboratory will open the $95 million Chemical and Materials Sciences Building in June of 2011 in Oak Ridge, Tenn. The three-story, 160,000-sf facility will provide advanced research laboratories and equipment suites. The project team includes architect Cannon Design and construction manager McCarthy Building Companies. Original concept design was completed by Flad Architects of Madison, Wis. LEED Gold sustainable design certification will be sought for the facility. Ground was broken on the project in June of 2009.
