Scripps Implements e-Builder

Published 11/5/2011

Scripps has selected e-Builder Enterprise software to standardize construction administration processes across its ongoing capital program. e-Builder will provide the Scripps Facility Design & Construction (FD&C) group with an integrated system to manage cost tracking, document tracking, bidding, contract approval, invoice approval, RFIs, PCOs, and change orders with e-Builder’s workflow automation platform.

e-Builder helps efficiently manage the vast amount of information generated throughout the project lifecycle, as well as standardize construction administration processes. In addition to the Scripps FD&C team, general contractors, architects, external CMs, and Inspectors of Record collaborate using e-Builder. Project information is available through reports that summarize budget and forecast information, compare commitments and actual costs in real time, and provide details and summary information of IT, construction, and equipment costs. These reports enable more effective monthly reviews, so that everyone is made aware of outstanding issues so they can be addressed immediately to ensure the projects keep moving. e-Builder’s Process module helps standardize all processes companywide to ensure a uniform set of processes that can be refined and improved over time. Scripps is also making extensive use of e-Builder’s Capital Project Bidding functionality, which helps reduce the time required to issue invitations to bid, normalize responses, and cut printing costs.
