University of Texas Builds El Paso Facilities

The University of Texas at El Paso is building three new facilities on its El Paso campus. A $69.2 million, 140,000-sf expansion of the Chemistry and Computer Science building will house the Biomedical Engineering and Bioinformatics Annex, the Research and Academic Data Center, the W.M. Keck Center for 3-D Innovation expansion, and the Center for Space Exploration Technology Research Propulsion Lab. A $60 million, 130,000-sf facility is under construction for the College of Health Sciences and the School of Nursing, and a $32 million expansion project will add 90,000 sf to the Swimming and Fitness Center. All three projects are expected to reach completion in 2011.
