University of Vermont Dedicates Agricultural Science Building

The University of Vermont dedicated the $55.7 million Jeffords Hall in Burlington on May 22, 2010. The 97,000-sf academic and research facility houses teaching labs, classrooms, offices, and research space. Housing the departments of Plant Biology and Plant and Soil Science, the three-story building will support molecular, ecological, and environmental research and teaching. The project features an underground central steam and chilled water system. LEED Gold sustainable design certification will be sought for the facility. Jeffords Hall was designed by Ellenzweig of Cambridge, Mass., and Freeman French Freeman of Burlington.
