Princeton University is planning to construct the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment in Princeton, N.J. The 127,000-sf facility represents an expansion of the School of Engineering and Applied Science and will feature a cleanroom, research laboratories, classrooms, offices, a lecture hall, and conference rooms. Designed by Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects of New York to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and foster industry partnerships, the facility will be built to meet high standards for sustainable construction. Comprising three interconnected buildings, the Andlinger Center will include low-vibration laboratories for nanotechnology research and imaging. Construction is expected to begin in 2011 with completion expected in 2015.
