University of Texas at San Antonio Dedicates Applied Engineering and Technology Building

The University of Texas at San Antonio dedicated the $82.5 million Applied Engineering and Technology (AET) Building on March 10, 2010. Designed to support world-class teaching and research in science and engineering, the four-story, 145,440-sf facility provides 36 laboratories, 87 faculty offices, five classrooms, and collaborative study alcoves. The building houses the departments of biomedical engineering, civil and environmental engineering, electrical and computer engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, and astronomy. The facility features a 2,200-sf bookless satellite library. The AET Building was designed by Garza Bomberger of San Antonio with HMG and Associates as project engineer. The general contractor for the project was Walbridge/Bartlett Cocke.
