Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation Builds Research Tower

Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation is constructing an 186,000-sf research tower in Oklahoma City. Construction began on the facility in 2009 with completion expected by January of 2011. The $125 million tower will house 34 laboratories and clinical space for researchers studying autoimmune diseases. The National Institutes of Health awarded OMRF $7.03 million in March of 2010 for the construction of three floors totaling 8,200 sf, including a 3,400-sf cryostorage facility. LEED Gold certification for sustainable design will be sought for the project, which will feature a living roof, daylighting, and a sophisticated HVAC system.
