RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.
Medicago awarded KBR Building Group a $19 million contract in November of 2010 to construct the 90,000-sf Vaccine Research and Production Facility/Greenhouse in Research Triangle Park, N.C. The commercial grade vaccine facility will utilize a VLP (virus-like particle) plant-based manufacturing technology to produce pandemic influenza vaccines. The total project cost is estimated at over $32 million. Completion is expected in July of 2011.
