Published 10/27/2010

The University of Massachusetts Amherst is building the $156 million New Laboratory Science Building. Ground was broken on the 318,000-gsf research facility in February of 2010 and the north wing of the building is expected to open in fall of 2012. The facility will be connected to the existing Integrated Sciences Building and will include shell space to accommodate future research needs. Designed by Wilson Architects of Boston, the New Laboratory Science Building will provide modern labs arranged in interdisciplinary research clusters. LEED Silver sustainable design certification will be sought for the project.
