Published 10/13/2010

The Hospital for Sick Children is constructing the $400 million Research & Learning Tower Toronto. The 21-story, 750,000-sf facility was designed by Diamond & Schmitt Architects and HDR with EllisDon as general contractor. Housing interdisciplinary research labs, instructional space, and conference rooms, the sustainably designed tower will be built to attain LEED Gold certification. The facility will feature open, flexible labs for team research with a mixture of wet and dry benches to promote collaboration. Ground was broken on the project in May of 2010 and completion is expected in 2013.
