Yale School of Medicine completed the fit-out of a 70,000-sf translational research facility at its New Haven, Conn., campus in March of 2008. The project contractor was Tucker Mechanical, a subsidiary of EMCOR Group. The project involved the base building HVAC and plumbing systems, as well as all required mechanical systems for the laboratory. The laboratory includes a reverse osmosis system, processed water, lab gases, natural gas, steam and condensate, chilled and heated water, sanitary waste and vent, steam hot water heaters, refrigerant piping, vacuum and sewage ejector pump packages, changeover/bypass variable air system, fan coil, cabinet and unit heater, power ventilators, reheat coils, and radiant panels.
