Purdue University Designs Calumet ETB Project

Purdue University is planning to construct the $40 million ETB project on its Calumet campus in Hammond, Ind. SmithGroup’s Detroit office will provide consulting design, lab design, and lab planning services for the approximately 77,000-gsf facility. Groundbreaking is expected in 2010. The project will provide offices and laboratories for research and teaching for the Department of Biological Sciences, Nursing, and the School of Education, as well as housing the PUC Centers and Institutes and affiliated laboratories. The architect of record is Schmidt Associates of Indianapolis.
